About
Games take forever to make, if they even make it to the finish line. Every time I get done with one, I think - that’s it, I’m out, I can’t do it again. But that’s a lie. I can’t stay away. Game narratives have methods of storytelling and potential that traditional forms can’t hold a candle to.
Each game presents a unique set of problems and technical limitations that has to be puzzled out before one bit of writing can even be displayed on the screen. It’s an ever-changing equation of something out of nothing that I find thrilling to solve. The moment when a character takes shape and begins to exist with their own voice and thoughts and life - the digital being interacting with the real one - that’s the part that makes me love my job more than anything. I can’t not be a narrative designer.
I’ve done a little bit of every type of design and a lot of dialogue. I design narrative tools and dialogue editors. I write branching stories, reactive dialogue, cinematic cutscenes, lore, barks, you name it. I have created memorable characters and have been able to get the best voice actors in the business to bring them to life. I’ve been doing this for over twenty years and I can’t ever see myself stopping - this is what I do best.
I work on unique narrative challenges or with people that interest me. If you have a project that you think would benefit from my experience, please get in touch.
About My Work
"Bloodlines has the best script I've seen in a videogame since... well,
since ever. In recent times, Planescape is probably hits the same peaks
that Bloodlines does, and has the advantage of mass of words, but in
terms of writing a modern, adult videogame, no-one's come near. No-one's
even tried."

"The Dialogue system is the best of its kind right now."

"The writing’s sharp, the decisions nuanced, the scenarios less contrived
and violence-inclined than assorted mediums of The Walking Dead tend to
be, the slow growth and improvement of your ant’s nest of a shelter
satisfying to see. There’s so much going on, slowly, with a trickle of
new survivors helping keep status quo at bay and changing how you feel
about your group. Little people, their lives in your hand. "

"During our demo, Mitsoda underscored that Bloodlines 2 will
capture the tone of the original: a mix of noir, personal drama,
political intrigue, and humor. The latter features heavily in the demo
with a young hermit named Dale Talley, who introduces our character to
the game’s world and the life of a vampire. His lighthearted pragmatism
elevates the usual exposition dump that starts most games into a fun,
surprising conversation — and a helpful primer for somebody new to the
franchise."
